Sound & Image has been keeping a close
eye on the happenings at ISE 2017 and we are super impressed, but not surprised
by the Bowers & Wilkins display. We share our enthusiasm with you…
Bowers & Wilkins is unleashing a new
level of cinematic excellence on visitors to ISE 2017 in Amsterdam. The
breathtaking Diamond Cinema experience delivers unrivalled technical
excellence, design and performance, and introduces two new ranges of Bowers
& Wilkins loudspeakers.
Once a year, Amsterdam plays host to Integrated
Systems Europe, a massive consumer electronics show where the Audio/Visual
industry gathers to discover what is new in the home entertainment world. This
year, the 65,000 plus visitors will have the opportunity to experience a
completely new level of home cinema performance thanks to the Bowers &
Wilkins Diamond Cinema – the ultimate 3D Cinema sound experience.
There are four main aspects which showcase
the advantages of 3D Cinema Sound: overhead loudspeakers, improved audio
quality, greater spatial control and resolution. Providing another dimension to
the theatre, overhead sound brings you closer than ever to a lifelike,
sonically encompassing cinematic experience. Additional loudspeakers installed
around the theatre also add greater spatial control, delivering a heightened
sense of realism. The engineers at Bowers & Wilkins equipped all 15
channels with equal sound pressure levels, which combined with a full frequency
response, further improves sound quality. The cinema itself measures an
isolation value of 55 dB(A) which minimizes background noise, resulting in greater
sonic definition and audible silence in recordings.
The improved audio quality is in a large
way down to the first ever use of the brand new Bowers & Wilkins CI800
Series Diamond high-performance custom installation loudspeaker range. The
range contains three new models that introduce Diamond dome tweeters, Continuum
and Aerofoil cones to custom installation speakers for the first time. It is
designed to deliver 800 Series Diamond sound quality, but from virtually
invisible loudspeakers – perfect for people who demand the very best sound, but
don’t want traditional loudspeakers. The Diamond Cinema features 15 channels of
CI800 Diamond Series speakers, including nine flagship CWM8.3 Diamond models,
and five CCM8.5 Diamond in celling speakers.
Sound & Image will be sharing some
insight into the CI800 Diamond and the DB Series subwoofers early next month.
